Quite simply, a staggering sight. Don't miss these towers, even though they are currently undergoing work, with hoardings around the bases. Really spectacular. Full review by Mark S

These towers certainly dominate the skyline in the centre of Bologna. The views from the top are supposed to be great, however the towers were closed on the day of our visit. Full review by Dimitris L

Hi. I'm keen to climb the tower and have managed similar climbs in the past, but I'm not as young as I used to be! I'd probably need to stop a couple of times to catch my breath - for a minute - would this be a problem? Also, assuming there is a single stairway, would all the people in a slot go up first, stay at the top for a while, then come down?
Does this have to be booked in advance? I will be in Bologna for a day in Sept (fri) but not sure of exact timings. Is it possible to book a ticket at the site?

Hello Gary, On their site you can even buy tickets in a time slot. I have not been up because at times it was so busy. The torre is not made for a lot of tourists because it’s a monument. The time you need for the way up depends on all the other people who join in your time slot. Better be patient when going but I guess once you’re up there the view must be magnificent. In other Torres like the one on Piazza Maggiore seems to be better equipped for the modern tourist. Enjoy! And don’t forget to eat the real pasta from this amazing city.
