Fun adventure. Favorite part is the bridge! Good place to take visitors from out of state. Great place to go if you want to experience nature and people... at a distance! Full review by LolaB19M

We might have picked wrong time To go , we went in January and together with us came snow fall . I give 4 stars as roads weren’t clean up and made it tricky to get there , as we were little Concerned… Full review by Bohemian_me84

I was there in October. The gate was closed and I had to walk 1.7 miles to the dam. When I got there I tried to go around the left side of the dam but there was a sign there that said STOP!! Electric Employees Only!! How do you get to the other side of the dam?

Find somewhere else to park your RV. Do not attempt to drive it down the road to the dam!

I believe you can. I know that many weddings are held here (I have officiated quite a number) and in each case there was alcohol at the reception.

It is variable since it all depends on water levels year round. May/June is typically a good time to try since Spring runoff will typically raise river water levels sufficiently to have all or most of the gates opened to allow the falls to flow. It is also interesting to view the falls without the water running and to see the exposed rock formation/cliffs that forced Lewis and Clark to portage around the series of five falls (one is now submerged due to the four dams along the Missouri in and around Great Falls.
