Fast-moving brush fires continue to tear through parts of Southern California for a third day as local businesses, including popular theme parks feel the impact. Universal Studios remains closed Thursday after the theme park announced it would close Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk on Wednesday.

As news of a massive disaster in California grows, a big question arises: Is Disneyland going to close? Disney likes to think they can control almost anything with a vacation experience. However, Mother Nature is often beyond the power of even Disney to handle it properly.

Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and CityWalk will be closed Wednesday due to the fires and extreme wind conditions.

Universal Studios Hollywood sent out a rare closure e-mail, shutting its doors Wednesday “due to extreme winds and fire conditions.” Both the park and CityWalk are expected to re-open on Thursday, Jan.

Universal Studios Hollywood is currently closed and closely monitoring the situation in the hopes of opening back up as soon as possible.

The ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles led to the closure of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk for safety reasons.
