Canada's government said late Tuesday it approved Bunge's (NYSE:BG) proposed acquisition of Glencore-backed (OTCPK:GLCNF) (OTCPK:GLNCY) Viterra after the companies agreed to concessions to address antitrust concerns.

Canada on Tuesday approved with conditions U.S. grains merchant Bunge's $34 billion merger with Glencore-backed Viterra, clearing one of the final remaining obstacles for a global agriculture tie-up that is unprecedented in dollar value.

The Canadian government approved Bunge Ltd.'s purchase of Viterra Ltd, which is a grain-handling business with more more than 80 facilities across the country.
