A large crowd gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday to protest the recent ICE raids and deportations. The gathering closed the 101 Freeway for hours. Police declared an unlawful assembly and forced demonstrators to disperse during the daylong event.

Protesters on Sunday are expected to hold a rally against ICE raids targeting immigrants and President Donald Trump's opposition to diversity, equity and inclusion policies.

The large group, calling for a National Day of Action, could be seen through aerial footage walking in the middle of Spring Street, moving along to block an intersection at Chick Hearn Court and 11th Street all the while waving Mexico flags and carrying protest signs.
