HOUSTON — Just days after being recognized by the Michelin Guide, a Houston restaurant has been removed from their list of Bib Gourmand selections. The Michelin Guide announced Thursday morning that Kâu Ba had been removed from their list. Kâu Ba was among the 16 restaurants selected for having great food at a great value.

The Michelin Guide for Texas is finally here. Chefs and restaurateurs across the state ventured to Houston for the question that has lingered over the heads of industry professionals and gourmands alike: Who is getting a Michelin star?

When the inaugural list was announced on Monday evening in Houston, it included four barbecue restaurants, the very first American-style ones to be honored with a Michelin star. In total, the Texas Michelin Guide bestowed one lone star on 15 restaurants; no spots received two or three stars.

With 15 newly minted Michelin Stars, Texas—renowned for its stellar barbecuse, Tex-Mex and tacos–has now officially been recognized as an international culinary hub.

The first Michelin Guide was created in 1889 by a brother duo in France. The guide now rates over 30,000 establishments in over 30 territories across three continents.
