Abbotsford Canucks forward Aatu Räty has won AHL Player Of The Week for the period ending Jan. 19. Räty recorded two goals and seven assists in four games this week, highlighted by a four-point game on Jan. 14 against the Ontario Reign. His performance helped Abbotsford win all four games and extended their home winning streak to six.

Rookie forward Jonathan Lekkerimäki was the hero as he tore apart a 4-4 tie game with just 38 seconds left in regulation. Aatu Räty made a perfect cross-ice to a wide-open Lekkerimäki, who beat San Jose goalie Gabriel Carriere to clinch the win.

The American Hockey League announced today that Abbotsford Canucks forward Aatu Räty has been selected as the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week.
