Bumrah and opening batter Smriti Mandhana will be receiving the ‘Best International Cricketer’ award in the men’s and women’s categories respectively while spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin is set to be honoured after announcing his international retirement midway during the tour of Australia.

Bumrah’s 71 wickets made him the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket for 2024, surpassing England’s Gus Atkinson, who finished second with 52 wickets from 11 matches.

India's spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been named the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year for 2024. The award puts him in an elite list of Indian cricketers who have won the honor in the past. The list features cricketing legends like Rahul Dravid (2004), Sachin Tendulkar (2010), R Ashwin (2016) and Virat Kohli (2017 and 2018).

Bumrah played a total of 13 Tests and eight ODIs last year. He secured 71 and 15 wickets, respectively. As a result, Bumrah became only the fifth Indian cricketer to win the aforementioned accolade.
