Newly released material from documents associated with President John F. Kennedy's assassination show that a key adviser wanted to break up the CIA after the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in 1961.

Declassified documents from the John F. Kennedy assassination files reveal that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had a major presence in U.S. embassies worldwide, with agents posing as State Department officials between 1950 and 1960.

So far, nothing in the documents has changed the long-held findings that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in assassinating Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963.
