The forecast calls for a 20% to 30% chance of snow starting after noon, with the chance increasing up to midnight, the National Weather Service in Wichita said Wednesday.

Kansas is feeling the impact of a major winter storm at the start of the week that dumped large amounts of snow in many areas. 27 News Chief Stormtrack Meteorologist Matt Miller reported on Jan. 5 that many parts of northeast Kansas experienced high snowfall amounts during a powerful winter storm.

Snow blanketed much of Kansas over the weekend, closing many schools, businesses and government offices on Monday. But how much fell? Wichita recorded 3.6 inches of snow at the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, according to data from the National Weather Service Monday. The forecast had called for 2 to 6 inches.
