Jordan Poole lifted the Washington Wizards out of the NBA cellar in dramatic fashion. Poole’s 3-pointer with 8.1 seconds remaining put Washington ahead, and the Wizards went on to beat the Charlotte Hornets 113-110 on Thursday night.

Poole hit the deck as he was falling backward, but that shot was true right from the start. The Hornets were lucky that there wasn't a foul on Josh Green and a four-point play. That shot put the Wizards up 112-110, and it was effectively the game-winner as Brandon Miller missed a three-pointer on the other end.

The Washington Wizards may be one of the worst teams in the NBA at the moment based on win-loss record, but that should not obscure the fact that Jordan Poole has been having quite the bounce-back season.

Miller, who is in his second NBA season, is averaging 21.5 points per game on 40.6 percent field goal and 35.3 percent three-point shooting so far this season. The Hornets forward is recording per game averages of 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per outing as well.

The Charlotte Hornets will receive some much-needed help on Thursday night as Brandon Miller makes his way back to the floor for tonight's game on the road against the Washington Wizards. Miller was labeled questionable earlier in the day but has been upgraded to available.
