Carroll's energy is known and obvious, but he cranked it up a notch while taking on the challenge of coaching the Las Vegas Raiders.

The 73-year-old Carroll clearly took the Raiders head coaching job because of the "one-in-a-lifetime" opportunity to work with the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

The Raiders hired Pete Carroll as their head coach but given his age, they are already thinking about a succession plan.
