Rangers' Urho Vaakanainen: Signs two-year extension
Vaakanainen inked a two-year, $3.1 million contract extension Friday. The 26-year-old defenseman was selected 18th overall by the Bruins in 2017 and was dealt from Anaheim to the Rangers on Dec. 6 in the Jacob Trouba trade.
The New York Rangers made an under-the-radar move on Friday, re-signing defenseman Urho Vaakanainen to a two-year contract.
The Rangers emerged from the trade deadline in better shape than before, but there is more hard work to be done.
