India reached 81 for three at stumps in second innings to extend their overall lead to 308 runs against Bangladesh on the second day of the opening Test here on Friday. Shubman Gill (33 not out) and Rishabh Pant (12 not out) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn for the day.

Bangladesh was skittled out for 149 inside three sessions, conceding a 227-run lead. Jasprit Bumrah, who became the sixth Indian quick to reach 400 international wickets, finished with figures of 4 for 50.

On Day 2, the Indian bowlers rained fire on the Bangladesh batters, skittling hem out for a measly total of 149 with Jasprit Bumrah taking 4 wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja and Akash Deep snapping up 2 apiece.
