Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has shown that he can be ruthless towards some of his squad, including Marcus Rashford.

Ruben Amorim has given a forthright and damning evaluation of why Marcus Rashford has not featured for Manchester United since December. The comments came after Rashford was once again not involved in the squad as Manchester United won 1-0 at Fulham on Sunday.

Amorim said he had a path back to the team – and Rashford responded a few days later by speaking to the press, saying he wanted a new challenge. He has featured in only one squad since, as a substitute, no times at all in 2025 and has not travelled to Romania.

David Ornstein has named the Manchester United gave serious consideration to signing before moving for Patrick Dorgu instead.
