The Indian fast bowler won the ICC’s award for men’s cricketer of the year for his performances in both the red-ball and white-ball format in 2024.

Bumrah and opening batter Smriti Mandhana will be receiving the ‘Best International Cricketer’ award in the men’s and women’s categories respectively while spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin is set to be honoured after announcing his international retirement midway during the tour of Australia.

Bumrah’s 71 wickets made him the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket for 2024, surpassing England’s Gus Atkinson, who finished second with 52 wickets from 11 matches.

Following an outstanding season displaying his red-ball cricket mastery, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been termed ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year for 2024. After a back injury kept him out for most of the year 2023,

Bumrah played a total of 13 Tests and eight ODIs last year. He secured 71 and 15 wickets, respectively. As a result, Bumrah became only the fifth Indian cricketer to win the aforementioned accolade.
