David Schwimmer has recounted a “genuinely terrifying” moment while shooting an episode of Friends when his co-star Matt LeBlanc was injured and rushed to hospital. The Friends star rose to fame on the much-loved Nineties sitcom alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and LeBlanc.

Friends alum David Schwimmer is detailing an on-set accident that happened to one of his costars. During the live taping of season 3, episode 2, "The One Where No One's Ready," Matt LeBlanc (playing Joey Tribbiani) tried to beat the late Matthew Perry (playing Chandler Bing) to an armchair — which is when the "genuinely frightening" injury occurred.

During the live taping of the show, [Matt LeBlanc] is supposed to do a kind of a pratfall, and he actually dislocated his shoulder. He went totally white, and he stood up, and I could see his shoulder was out. He looked like he was going to pass out.

Schwimmer remembers "immediately turning to the camera like, 'Cut, cut, cut.' That was genuinely frightening. You could see how badly hurt he was. And we had to stop filming that

The actor's injury was a fluke that he played off so well, it took him stepping away from the scene for the rest of the cast to notice

David Schwimmer called himself a “genuine fan of horror” but never got a chance to do much in the genre. However, the actor best known for his role as Ross Geller on Friends, is about to showcase a different side of his acting chops with a starring role in Season 2 of DisneyPlus and Hulu's horror anthology revival Goosebumps.
