Justice Department officials said the gang members, who were part of the Katy-area chapter of the Bandidos, committed crimes as part of an attempt to give itself a monopoly in the Texas region. A RICO indictment unsealed Wednesday laid out accusations of planned murders, assaults and arson, among other crimes.

Officials say the Bandidos biker gang has been committing crimes against rival gang members in order to drive them out of Houston.

Federal authorities said a turf war started when the group sought to establish a monopoly over motorcycle clubs and gangs in the Houston area.
