Nepal will increase the permit fees for climbing Mount Everest by more than 35%, making the world’s tallest peak more expensive for mountaineers for the first time in nearly a decade, officials said on Wednesday.

Under the revised mountaineering regulations, the royalty fee for foreigners climbing Everest from the normal south route in the spring season (March-May) has been raised to USD 15,000 from the current USD 11,

Nepal has decided to increase the permit fees for climbing Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak. The last revision in the free was undertaken in 2015, when Nepal ditched the a group-based system to adopt a uniform fee.
