PRETORIA (Reuters) - The third Twenty20 International between South Africa and India was halted early in the home side’s reply after a wave of flying ants descended on Centurion Park in Pretoria on Wednesday and forced the players from the field.

India defeated South Africa by 11 runs in the third T20 International in Centurion. India scored 219/6, their eighth 200-plus total in T20s in 2024. Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten century. Abhishek Sharma contributed a quickfire 50.

The toss for the third T20 between South Africa and India is scheduled to take place at 8 PM IST. Hardik Pandya has handed over Ramandeep Singh his maiden international cap. He might replace Tilak Verma in the squad.

It seemed like the India vs South Africa T20I series would be consigned to the back page of major sports media coverage, with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on the horizon.
