The Green Line route provides rapid transit train service between Harlem in Forest Park, IL and Oak Park, IL to 63rd Street on Chicago's South Side, through downtown via the Lake and Wabash sides of the Loop ‘L’.

The new Damen Green Line station opened in the summer of 2024 along the Lake Street Branch at Damen Avenue. The station fills a gap between existing Green Line stations and provides convenient connections to people living and working on the near West Side.

Green Line trains operate daily early morning to late evening. Bus routes which provide alternative overnight (owl) service are: N9 Ashland between 95th/Dan Ryan Red Line stationand Clark/North via 95th, Ashland and North avenues. N20 between Washington/State and Madison/Austin. N63 between 63rd/Stony Island and Midway Orange Line station.

The new station is located in the two-mile stretch between the existing Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT Green Line stations and will provide much needed access to rapid transit for neighborhood residents and businesses, including McCormick Place.
