Sep 24, 2017 · If the line is visible in BIOS, then it is a hardware issue where the display needs to be replaced. Refer to "Image on screen flickers, has lines or distorted colors" section in this HP Article. If the line is not visible in BIOS then uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and reinstall it using HP Support Assistant.

Jul 16, 2020 · If it works fine on the alternate monitor or the BIOS (Accessed while tapping F10 during a restart for HP computers) it's a software issue & I suggest creating a new user account to check if that works better, for starters or contact the manufacturer or the desktop for support,
