May 4, 2010 · Actually the V12's did have a vent system that worked fairly well and relied on the small pressure differential between atmosphere and the carburetor air cleaner. This system could soon be overcome when the engine begin to wear.

Aug 7, 2007 · Since the K had a 450+ cid V12 engine, the companion car had to have a V 12 also and was a hit as no other V 12 on the market could be had for under $1,500. Lincoln was not competeing with Cadillacs V 8 but with their V 12 which sold for more money.

Nov 1, 2011 · Any chance you can post a picture? There's the Lincoln Continental/Zephyr V-12 that was made from 1936 - 1948, and then there were a couple larger V-12's from 1932 - 1939. If the distributor is at the front of the engine it's a Continental/Zephyr engine, if the distributor is at the back, it's an earlier one.

I'm not convinced mere precision is all there is to an engine like a Packard V12. And Ed's not kidding about costs on a big Full Classic rebuild. I have nearly $72,000 worth of receipts on the V16 engine in the Marmon Sixteen I have right now.

Dec 14, 2019 · Why is there so many V12 M-Benz's parked with engine troubles? As for the rest of M-B engines they are much better than the V12's. As for "not being informed" I've owned 5 M-Benz's over the years and did a lot of the mechanical maintenance myself or with a very competent licenced mechanic helping.
